Recreation Assistant

Baptist Housing provides exceptional holistic care as we assist over 2500 seniors to experience life well in supportive communities in British Columbia. We serve through a culture of caring, demonstrating Servant Leadership, collaborating in Teams, building relationships and fun!

The Victoria Team is looking for casual Recreation Assistants to join them at The Heights at Mt. View. Under the direction of the Recreation Therapy Manager, the Recreation Assistant conducts a program of therapeutic and recreational activities designed to meet the physical, mental, social and spiritual needs of Residents.  Please, note that we are under the single-site order. Professionals working in health-care facilities cannot work in more than one Long-term Care or Assisted Living residence while this order is in place.

As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, the Recreation Assistant participates in the concepts of multi-tasking and multi-skilling; and works collaboratively to implement a person-centered Wellness Model of Care. The therapy team supports the greater team by encouraging normalized activities to promote health and wellness, and creating a safe and empowering environment that will support and respect the autonomy, independence, dignity and privacy of Residents.

As an ambassador of Baptist Housing, you model our values in all interactions, providing service with an attitude of compassion, respect and integrity. You understand the needs of seniors and love serving them and assisting them to live well. You are committed to achieving the mission of Baptist Housing, supporting your team every day, and you have a positive attitude. You are creative, great at teaching others, and collaborate well with others.
