Must Haves

  • Graduation from a recognized Resident Assistant Program 

  • Post-Secondary Medication Administration Course

  • High school diploma

  • Current Food Safe certificate 

  • Current WHIMIS certification

  • Current registration is in good standing with the BC Assistant Registry

About The Role

  • Cultivates positive and collaborative relationships with residents, team members, families, and partners.

  • Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers of residents, ensuring a welcoming and settled-in experience. 

  • Supports residents in maintaining independence within their capabilities. 

  • Provides personal care, including activities of daily living, with a focus on dignity, individuality and privacy. 

  • Implements individualized care plans, performs delegated tasks and administers medications as directed. 

  • Maintains updated resident clinical records with the Resident Aide scope of practice

  • Transports residents using mechanical aids and assists with meals, laundry and activities.

  • Participates in quality care and improvement programs, reporting concerns or changes promptly.

  • contributes to care planning and multidisciplinary team meetings, staying informed through regular communication. 

  • Performs clerical duties, supports orientation and training of new resident assistants, and engages in professional development activities. 

  • Promotes a health and safety culture by demonstrating and encouraging safe working practices and actively participating in health and safety initiatives.

Your Work Location

Victoria ranks among the top twenty world cities for quality of life. Your work location will be at Marrion Village, our assisted living and senior rental housing community in Oak Bay.
