Requirements

  • Secondary school graduation 

  • Formal training in basic accounting and the use of Microsoft Word and Excel  

  • Completion of the Emergency First Aid – Community Care training with St. Johns Ambulance or equivalent  

  • A minimum of 3 year’s experience as a Resident Services Assistant or an equivalent combination of training and experience 

  • Current Food Safe Certification (applicable for Overnight Resident Services Assistant only) 

About The Role

*There are two available positions, a Resident Services Assistant and an Overnight Resident Services Assistant 

The ideal candidates will need to be available to work the following hours (0800-1600, 1600-0000, 0000-0800) 

Resident Services Assistant:  

The Resident Services Assistant role involves many administrative and support duties at a residential facility. Key responsibilities include managing reception tasks, handling inquiries, coordinating guest services, and maintaining meticulous records and files. The assistant also manages office operations, prepares documents, and oversees resident accounts and tenancy changes in compliance with privacy laws and regulations. Additional duties include assisting with resident relocations, tracking meal attendances for billing, and handling financial transactions such as rent collection and bank deposits. The role is pivotal in supporting the Administrator, especially in their absence, by resolving resident issues and maintaining critical communication and organizational systems within the facility. Victoria is rated in the top twenty of world cities for quality of life.  This role will service our Shannon Oaks community in Oak Bay. 

Overnight Resident Services Assistant: 

The Resident Services Assistant serves as the primary point of contact for reception duties, handling inquiries and managing guest services. This role is also critical in emergency response, providing first aid, managing medical and building emergencies, and completing incident reports. Responsibilities extend to light janitorial work, dining setup, and maintaining a confidential resident database in compliance with privacy laws. Additionally, the assistant performs general office tasks, develops various documents, and responds to maintenance requests. In the Administrator's absence, they address resident issues and assist with various administrative projects, ensuring the smooth operation of the facility. The role also involves active participation in team meetings, committees, and resident events.  This role will service our Shannon Oaks community in Oak Bay.

Compensation & Benefits

A caring and supportive work environment with a compensation rate of $24.40 / hour.
