Volunteer Resources Supervisor – Senior Living Community

About You 

You are an experienced, collaborative individual who loves people.  You bring an upbeat attitude and sense of fun to work. Possessing strong interpersonal skills, you are highly service oriented with a focus on achieving goals.  You can work both independently and as a collaborative team member while bringing critical thinking and problem-solving skills to this position.  Serving seniors and supporting their family, you are detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage your time, workload, and conflicting priorities effectively and efficiently. You have highly developed literacy skills with the proven ability to plan and produce a broad range of professional and polished documents.  You value learning, embrace innovative change, and promote health and wellness using a resident directed approach.

Ideally you have a bachelor’s degree or relevant post-secondary education such as Human Resources, Social Sciences, or Adult Education, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in volunteer administration or related experience as well as eligibility in the Volunteer Management Professionals of Canada (VMPC). 

About the Opportunity 

The volunteer resources supervisor provides vision and leadership to develop and implement Baptist Housing’s volunteer programs across the ministry, advancing our mission to provide exceptional holistic care as we assist seniors to experience life well in supportive communities.  The supervisor leads the team of volunteer coordinators. 

The volunteer resources supervisor also serves as a volunteer coordinator at Evergreen Care in White Rock, working closely with the chaplains and activity and recreation team members to administer volunteer placement designed to meet the residents’ individual needs and abilities. The supervisor promotes safety, wellness and spiritual care using a person-centered approach. 

The volunteer resources supervisor is a position of Christian ministry and Christian leadership within Baptist Housing.  The supervisor agrees with Baptist Housing’s Statement of Faith, serves as a member of the spiritual care team and provides oversight and support to Christian spiritual care volunteers.   

As an ambassador for Baptist Housing, the supervisor helps ensure all Baptist Housing activities promote, enhance, and protect our brand, boosting our reputation with relevant constituents, as well as driving broader awareness.

This is a full-time, permanent position located in White Rock. Total compensation includes competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package, four weeks’ vacation, RRSP matching, and support for professional development.

You would consent to a Criminal Record Check (CRC) for working with Vulnerable Adults and are able to provide a clear current tuberculosis test.  Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is also a condition of employment.
