As the Activities Assistant at Clarendon Court, you will help develop and implement wellness programs that promote healthy living and community engagement, while building relationships with residents, team members, and external organizations.   

 

About The Role   

You’ll oversee creating and updating activity calendars, notices, and schedules, overseeing event setup and takedown, and arranging bus transportation for both Independent Living and Assisted Living residents at Baptist Housing. This includes driving the Baptist Housing bus, planning engaging activities, and considering feedback from residents and team members. Additionally, you'll be responsible for compiling and managing important documentation such as attendance records, progress reports, and activity plans as requested by the Activity Coordinator. You'll also play a role in establishing a network of resources comprising individuals, volunteers, and organizations while promoting health and safety practices within the team. Your primary location of work will be at Clarendon Court, our Assisted Living community in South Vancouver.  

 

Requirements   

  • Completion of Grade 12 education and recognized recreational courses for seniors.  

  • Previous experience in coordinating activities for seniors or related combinations of education, training, and experience. 

  • Possession of a valid Class 4 unrestricted driver's license or a willingness to obtain it. 

  • Current First Aide Certificate 

  • Valid Food Safe Certification

You are proactive in attending recommended relevant conferences, workshops, and events, ensuring you stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in senior care. 

 

Compensation and Benefits    

We offer a competitive compensation package, featuring an hourly wage range of $24.48 - $25.54. Your comprehensive benefits include employer-paid extended health and dental coverage, along with a generous four weeks of vacation. Additionally, we provide RRSP matching contributions and support for your ongoing professional development.
