About The Role   

As the Activities Coordinator, you will: 

  • Develop, implement, and assess therapeutic wellness programs for independent and assisted living residents, aligning with the Baptist Housing wellness model. 

  • Collaborate with assisted living manager, chaplains, and activity assistants to create customized activities 

  • Tailor programs to meet unique resident needs, foster community, and enhance holistic wellness 

  • Reviews, assesses and adjusts activity plans regularly based on observation, Team Member input and attendance. 

  • Coordinate and schedule internal programs and external outings 

  • Prepare activity calendar considering activation, life skills, recreation, and social needs 

  • Cultivate strong relationships with residents of the Oak Bay community and fellow team members. 

  • Ensures department coverage and program delivery through effective scheduling and workload distribution. 

  • Liaises with external agencies, recruiting resources for programs and events to meet Resident's needs. 

  • Uphold Baptist Housing values as an ambassador for the organization. 

  • Report directly to the administrator 

  

 

Requirements   

  • Two years of recent related experience coordinating recreation programs for seniors 

  • Current certification in Emergency First Aid OFA level 1 

  • Valid Class 4 (unrestricted) driver's license with clear driver’s abstract 

  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience 

  • Having an activity aid certificate and/or diploma is considered an asset

Compensation and Benefits    

We offer a competitive compensation package, featuring an hourly wage range of $28.00 - $30.00. Your comprehensive benefits include employer-paid extended health and dental coverage, along with a generous four weeks of vacation. Additionally, we provide RRSP matching contributions and support for your ongoing professional development.
