As the Activities Lead at Evergreen Heights, you will help develop and implement wellness programs that promote healthy living and community engagement, while building relationships with residents, team members and external organizations.  

 

About The Role 

As the Activities Lead you will lead the recreational programs designed to enhance the holistic well-being of residents. Working closely with the Administrator, Chaplain, Activity Assistant, Volunteer Coordinator you’ll ensure that activities are tailored to meet individual needs, foster a sense of community, and promote physical, emotional, social, and spiritual wellness.  You’ll be responsible for developing monthly activity calendars, organizing engaging events, and facilitating smooth transitions for new residents by coordinating welcome initiatives. In this leadership role, you will mentor and support the activities assistant, manage schedules, conduct performance reviews, and oversee volunteer involvement. You’ll also act as a key liaison with external organizations, ensuring programs align with resident interests and community resources. Additionally, you’ll handle budgeting responsibilities, track expenditures, and support ongoing professional development while upholding a strong focus on health and safety for residents, team members, and volunteers. Requirements 

  • Completion of a recognized degree, diploma or certificate relative to recreation or activities is preferred  

  • Completion of Class 4 drivers training and maintenance of a valid Class 4 license, or willingness to gain at own expense 

  • Current certification in emergency first aid – community care  

  • Minimum of two years recent experience coordinating activity programs for seniors, or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.

Moreover, you have a keen eye for detail and a compassionate nature, enabling you to observe and recognize changes in residents' overall well-being, whether physical, emotional, spiritual or psychological. You are proactive in attending recommended relevant conferences, workshops, and events, ensuring you stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in senior care.     

  

Compensation & Benefits 

Your total compensation includes a salary range of $27.92 - $29.60 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package that includes four weeks' vacation, RRSP matching and support for professional development.
