You adhere to safe driving regulations and possess expertise in operating bus equipment, guaranteeing a secure and comfortable experience. Beyond technical proficiency, your deep understanding of aging processes enables personalized care for residents with varying diagnoses. Committed to the wellness model of care, you empower residents to maintain independence. With a valid BC Class IV Driver's License, Clean driver's Abstract, and current first aid certificate, you're not just a bus driver but a caring companion dedicated to residents' well-being. 

About The Role

  • Carries out driving responsibilities in a safe manner

  • Meets residents' needs by following the bus schedule as designed on the activity calendar and for residents by following the designated schedule.

  • Ensures supplies and equipment and pre-trip inspections are done for the bus before departure

  • Maintenance issues are communicated through email to the appropriate team members

  • Maintenance of the bus ensuring it is kept tidy and clean inside and out regularly. 

  • Maintains confidentiality of all Resident information and must display an attitude that will show respect and maintain the spirit, dignity and individuality of the resident. 

  • Familiarizes and adheres to all organizational policies and Procedures, including campus bus policies and procedures.  

  • Ensures accurate and current entry of the Bus Mileage Log. 

  • Maintains BC Class IV Driver's License requirements, including physical examinations as needed. 

  • Establishes, influences and supports a culture of health and safety. 

  • Demonstrates safe working practices and encourages other team members to work safely. 

  • Demonstrates a consistent example of Servant Leadership by serving the needs of others.

Your Work Location

Victoria is rated in the top twenty of world cities for quality of life. The wild beauty of the Pacific coast and adventure of the great outdoors are within the city limits and ocean and mountain vistas will follow you wherever you go. This role will service our Shannon Oaks community in Oak Bay and Carey Place in Mt. View Heights.
