As the Chaplain/Wellness Coordinator you will provide spiritual care and wellness support to both residents and team members. 

About The Role 

*This is a part-time position of 22.5 hours per week. 

The Chaplain/Wellness Coordinator is a vital part of our community. You will lead spiritual care programs, offer emotional and spiritual guidance, and ensure that wellness programs align with Baptist Housing’s holistic wellness model. Through compassionate leadership, you will foster community, offer counsel during life's challenges, and coordinate activities that meet the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of our residents. You will work closely with residents, their families, and team members to ensure that everyone is supported and engaged, contributing to an enriching and meaningful life experience for all. 

Responsibilities 

  • Plan and lead spiritual care programs such as worship services, Bible studies, and prayer sessions. 

  • Offer pastoral care and spiritual guidance to residents and team members. 

  • Support end-of-life care, assist in planning funerals, and provide grief counseling. 

  • Develop and coordinate wellness activities and programs that meet the holistic needs of the residents. 

  • Collaborate with the volunteer coordinator for recruitment and management of volunteers. 

  • Maintain relationships with community resources, clergy, and health organizations to support residents’ well-being. 

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and contribute to a culture of safety within the workplace. 

 

Requirements 

  • Graduate degree in Theology or Ministry (e.g., M.A., M.Div., M.Cs.). 

  • Completion of Clinical Pastoral Education or training in professional chaplaincy is preferred. 

  • Eligible for endorsement by the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches in BC and Yukon (endorsement will be arranged by the employer within the first year of employment). 

  • Compassionate approach to spiritual care, with sensitivity to diverse religious backgrounds. 

  • Experience in geriatrics, spiritual care, grief counseling, and activity planning. 

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships with residents, families, and team members. 

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Compensation & Benefits 

Your total compensation includes an hourly salary of $31.73, inclusive of extended health and dental coverage, retirement savings plan contributions, and paid vacation.
