About You

You are a teacher at heart who can translate complex research and knowledge into effective educational programs for staff. You’re known for your compassionate and caring spirit that respects residents and staff in a way that maintains their dignity, individuality, and cultural differences. You’re an encyclopedia of knowledge when it comes to clinical programs, understanding aging processes, altered cognitive function, disease processes, and pharmacological therapies. You’re also tech-savvy and are always up to date on trends in residential care, including a strong understanding of infection control processes and management.  When problems need solving, you welcome those challenges like it’s solving a good puzzle. Self-motivation and time management aren’t stumbling blocks for you, as you are laser-focused on achieving the desired outcomes for the residents you serve. You’ll also come with a Bachelor of Science, Nursing degree and be a member in good standing or eligible for membership with BCCMN.

About The Role

You’ll be responsible for leading the education initiatives for all team members within our long term care, assisted living, and independent living communities. By fulfilling our mission, vision, and values, you’ll enhance team member performance through education, coaching, mentoring and guidance. You’ll facilitate in-house education sessions, manage infection control processes, and investigate work-related incidents. You’ll also manage student practicum and preceptorship placements and ensure high clinical standards while prioritizing resident satisfaction. You’ll also monitor resident safety and report hazards.
