The Director of Operations is a position of Christian ministry and Christian leadership within Baptist Housing, responsible for leading the delivery of care and housing operations, and quality initiatives across their assigned portfolio, which in the Lower Mainland and Victoria consisting of Assisted Living and Independent Living. 

 

About the Role

As the Director of Operations, you serve as an Ambassador of Baptist Housing, embodying our ministry values and exemplifying servant leadership in alignment with the teachings of Jesus Christ. Your role involves fostering positive relationships with residents, team members, families, and partners while providing spiritual leadership and promoting spiritual growth within the community. You will oversee independent living, assisted living and home support services, ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance. You will lead and support the team and promote a positive culture, innovation, and professional development. Your responsibilities include financial and risk management, health and safety leadership, reporting, and networking with key partners. Your work will directly impact the operational success, financial integrity, and compliance of the organization, contributing to our mission and vision. 

 

Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, social sciences, or health care administration (Master’s degree preferred) 

  • Minimum seven years’ experience in administration/management in hospitality or senior services setting 

  • The Director of Operations is a position of Christian ministry and Christian leadership within Baptist Housing. The individual in this role is required to sign and commit to the Statement of Faith of Baptist Housing.

You possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to lead organizational change decisively, demonstrating critical thinking and strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You have an in-depth understanding of hospitality in the context of senior’s living communities. Your effective communication skills, both verbal and written, and your strong interpersonal skills enable you to navigate conflict and model our ministry values in all interactions. With a self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized approach, you manage time, workload, and priorities efficiently. You foster an environment that respects the autonomy, independence, dignity, spiritual wellness, and privacy of our residents. By embracing learning and innovative change, you promote health and wellness through a person-centred approach in the context of Christian ministry.

We provide long term care, assisted living, independent living, and home support in our communities in Kelowna, Vancouver, and Victoria. Compensation and Benefits 

We offer a competitive compensation package, featuring a yearly salary range between $130,000 and $145,000. Your comprehensive benefits include employer-paid extended health and dental coverage, along with a generous four weeks of vacation. Additionally, we provide RRSP matching contributions and support for your ongoing professional development.
