About You

You are a human resources visionary with proven ability to develop and implement effective recruitment initiatives. You embrace the challenge of recruiting nurses and care aides in a national staffing shortage. You are known for your innovative ideas, marketing abilities, and follow-through to build a strong and engaged team for an organization making a difference.

As an experienced, collaborative leader who loves people, you bring an upbeat attitude and sense of fun to work. Possessing strong interpersonal skills, you thrive on fostering and maintaining healthy productive relationships. You are self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency. You manage your time, workload, and conflicting priorities effectively and efficiently.

You have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in human resources or marketing. You bring three to five years progressive full-cycle recruitment experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Your health care or seniors living experience will serve you well.

About the Opportunity

You are responsible to develop a vision and strategy that ensures sustainable staffing across Baptist Housing. Your focus will be building a suite of recruitment programs that source qualified nurses and care aides, both domestically and internationally, to serve in our long-term care and assisted living communities in the Lower Mainland, Kelowna, and Victoria.

As a member of Baptist Housing’s human resources (HR) leadership team, you act in partnership with our HR team to align and deliver excellent HR programs and services across the organization, contributing to Baptist Housing’s strategic plan and helping achieve our mission of helping seniors experience life well in supportive communities.

As an ambassador for Baptist Housing, you cultivate an environment that supports and respects the autonomy, independence, dignity, and privacy of our residents and fosters a fun and respectful work environment for team members. You help ensure all Baptist Housing activities promote, enhance, and protect our brand, boosting our reputation with relevant constituents, as well as driving broader awareness.

This is a full-time, permanent position located in our new office in central Surrey, BC. We practice a hybrid work model, with three days in the office and two days at home. We would consider remote work outside the lower mainland for the right candidate. Total compensation includes competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package, four weeks’ vacation, RRSP matching, and support for professional development.

You would consent to a Criminal Record Check (CRC) for working with Vulnerable Adults. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is a condition of employment.
