About You

You are a compassionate and empathetic individual with a strong drive to provide exceptional care to the residents you serve. Building meaningful, long-term relationships with those under your care is something you truly value, and you're always willing to go the extra mile for them when needed. Your exceptional communication skills allow you to effectively convey instructions in a way that everyone can understand, even during challenging conversations. Your calm and friendly demeanour sets others at ease, and people appreciate feeling heard and valued when interacting with you. Not only are you known for your attention to detail and meticulous planning, but you also have a great sense of humour and a fun-loving spirit. Your colleagues admire you and always want to be on your team. You consistently model our Baptist Housing values in all your interactions with residents and team members. You’ll have graduated from a recognized post-secondary Licensed Practical Nurse program and hold a current registration in good standing with the BCCNM. Experience as a nurse in an assisted living environment is preferred.

About The Role

You’ll play a vital role in providing support and care to residents and their families. You will assist with facility tours, move-in and move-out processes, and provide orientation to the assisted living community. You’ll conduct assessment interviews to determine residents' functional levels, needs, and preferences. To ensure individual resident needs are met, you will actively participate in activity programming, meal planning, hospitality, and personal care services. You’ll oversee the implementation of individual care plans, perform nursing interventions, and conduct regular visits as requested. You will observe and assess residents during community activities, responding to changes that require intervention or adjustments in service provision. Additionally, you’ll address resident and family concerns, participate in resident reviews, and liaise with healthcare professionals. You will maintain accurate records, stay updated on guidelines and legislation, and provide assessment support to the marketing team. You will also assist with team leadership, including the orientation of new members and supervision of care services. Reporting, networking, professional development, and promoting a culture of health and safety are also important aspects of your role.
