As the Maintenance Assistant, you will provide preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, and a timely response to routine maintenance and repair requests for buildings, grounds, and equipment.  

About The Role

As a Maintenance Assistant, you are responsible for a wide range of maintenance tasks, including repairing furniture, plumbing fixtures, and equipment, as well as performing electrical and mechanical repairs. Additionally, you will ensure a clean and organized work area, participate in on-call schedules for emergencies, assign tasks to team members, and establish preventative maintenance procedures. You’ll also maintain records of maintenance activities and expenses, uphold our ministry's values, and promote a culture of health and safety by identifying hazards and ensuring compliance with regulations. 

Your work location is in the seaside city of White Rock. Our Evergreen community is located at 1550 Oxford St. 

Requirements

  • A minimum of two years of related experience in building and system maintenance or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.  

  • Knowledgeable in maintenance best practices  

  • Proficient in using tools and performing tasks for building and system maintenance.  

  • Working knowledge of computers and software for communication and word processing  

  • Must be physically capable of lifting 50lbs and performing job duties in the working environment.

Compensation & Benefits

Your compensation is $27.10 per hour, as outlined by the HEU collective agreement. You’ll be welcomed into a warm and supportive work environment where you can thrive both personally and professionally.
