As the Maintenance Lead at Village at Smith Creek, you’ll play a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for our residents, team members, and visitors.
About The Role
As a Maintenance Lead, you will be responsible for all aspects of building and systems maintenance at Village at Smith Creek. You’ll lead maintenance projects, oversee preventative maintenance programs, and supervise a team of skilled professionals to ensure timely and quality service.
You’ll also collaborate with contractors, manage building automation systems, and ensure compliance with safety standards and organizational policies. Acting as an ambassador of Baptist Housing, you’ll embody our values of compassion, integrity, and respect in all interactions, fostering a positive environment for everyone in our community.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and oversee maintenance projects to ensure efficiency and high-quality results.
Implement and manage preventative maintenance programs for systems and equipment.
Lead and supervise maintenance team members, fostering collaboration and performance excellence.
Perform hands-on maintenance tasks as needed.
Coordinate and manage contractors to complete projects on time and within budget.
Monitor and maintain HVAC and other building systems for optimal performance.
Support the Director of Sustainability & Maintenance in ensuring compliance with safety standards and organizational policies.
Requirements
Post-secondary education in building and systems maintenance preferred.
Certification or Red Seal in a building trade is an asset.
At least 5 years of related experience in building and systems maintenance.
Leadership experience in supervising teams and managing projects.
Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset.
Knowledge of building automation systems and computer-controlled operations.
Proficiency in HVAC systems and equipment.
Advanced mechanical skills for repairing and maintaining various systems.
Familiarity with computer systems and digital tools.
Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clear driving record.

Compensation & Benefits
We offer a competitive compensation package, featuring an hourly wage of $30.27. Your comprehensive benefits include employer-paid extended health and dental coverage, along with a generous four weeks of vacation.
