You possess a unique skill set that includes assessing functional and cognitive status, managing equipment, and adeptly utilizing office technology. You are also well-versed in pharmacological therapies, the Wellness Model, legal documentation, and the complex intricacies of the healthcare system at various levels. You are competent, compassionate, and have an unwavering commitment to the well-being of those you serve.
Must Haves
-
Graduate from an approved school of nursing with current practicing registration with the BCCNM or the Registered Psychiatric Nursing Association of British Columbia (RPNBC).

Current CPR certification Level C.

Current First Aide Certification Level 1.

WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System)

Previous experience in geriatrics or long-term care is an asset.
About The Role
We have 2 Part-Time evening shifts (0.69 and 0.93 FTE) and one Part-time Night shift (0.94)

Models Baptist Housing's values in all interactions with residents, team and families

Provides direct nursing care to residents in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and programs, as well as BCCNM Standards of Practice.

Provides ongoing resident assessment, formulation, implementation, and evaluation of care plans in coordination with resident care aides.

Collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to plan, prioritize, implement, and evaluate care given to residents.

Administers medications according to established policies and procedures. Applies and changes dressings following wound care plans.

Maintains records by documenting the symptoms and conditions of residents, nursing interventions, and other activities. Report changes in residents' conditions to the physician, pharmacist, and/or supervisor as appropriate.

Participates in unit and staff meetings, medication reviews, family meetings, and care conferences to communicate residents' assessments, needs, and status to other members of the interdisciplinary team.

Plans and provides teaching and counselling to residents and their families.

Monitors staff work activities in relation to the resident's care plan, prioritizing client services as required.

Provides liaison with resident physicians on visits, through telephone, or fax contact to maintain current orders.

Processes physician orders.

Assists with admissions, transfers, and discharges of residents.

Performs and documents InterRai Resident Assessments.

Promotes and maintains the infection control program. Advises support service staff on infection control and outbreak protocols.

Report risks, hazards, near misses, unsafe situations, incidents, and accidents to supervisor, manager, or designate.

Monitors safety in the resident's living environment and the staff's working environment.

Supports teamwork in a collaborative manner, is knowledgeable about the roles of other multidisciplinary team members, and is accountable for their own decisions and actions.

Provides input into staff evaluations on an ad hoc basis.

Attends in-service education programs and staff meetings.

Participates in continuous quality improvement, safety, and accreditation programs and attends team meetings as required.

Maintains current knowledge and certification applicable to job qualifications.

Is knowledgeable about and adheres to all policies.

Performs other related duties as required.

Your Work Location
The seaside city of White Rock. Our Evergreen community is located at 1550 Oxford Street.

Level 3 RN $40.21 - $54.28 per hour.
