Butterfly Cheers
Thanks to our student volunteer Rachel, and her fundraising contribution, we were able to purchase a Butterfly rearing kit for our Residents at Village at Smith Creek.
The larvae have arrived and the process has begun. It is hard to imagine that in a few weeks these tiny little black specks will transform into Painted Lady butterflies.
Over the next few weeks we will be able to view the metamorphosis in the Dobbin and Gellatly library. All things going as planned the Butterflies will be released on May 29th at Shannon Lake. Some Residents and students from Rose Valley school meet there often and are looking forward to participating in the Fishing-Butterfly Release program on that day.
Please visit and give those Painted Ladies encouragement as they work towards their journey to freedom!
